Having a pint with a prophet

On a related note ( read post below)
I feel i must impart on the world some wise words that were told to me by a prophet.
A wise Trinidadian i met in a bar some years ago (foufons electric)
at the time i was going through a painful break up. After a couple mugs of dutch courage i began socializing with strangers.
one of these strangers was a pink tuq totting Carlyel Williams
We began rapping about the world and its contents.
He would constantly give props after everyone of his statements, there were many.
His laugh was infectious.
He had a large mouth full of big pearly white teeth. He looked like a lion when he laughed.
He said he was an artist with a degree at Concordia. He made music, music that to his ears sounded like a cross between Bob Marley and Jimi Hendrix.
His Myspace describes his music and art as:
" original genres of Art and Music, which he calls Eternal Art and Music. Eternal Music is the sum total of the past, present, and future of Music. It is Music created beyond Time and Space"
If this were true then it seems that i had stumbled upon quite the Human Being.
I was surprised that small objects did not gravitate around this intellectually massive man.
Unsurprisingly the fact that my heart was broken came up in conversation.
I confided in him, this strange black man i had just met, that i was feeling quite down in the dumps and i missed my former lover.
He looked straight into my eyes, his dark pools seemed to drown my very soul, he said:
"There are two things wrong with this world. 1: Terrorism and number 2: Sex with your ex."
He bellowed out a mirthy laughter and knocked my knuckles with his.
Wise words from a prophet?
He gave me his demo cd and melted into the crowd.
Those words of wisdom have stayed with me all these years, and will continue to until the end of my physical life.
you see i believe that their is a great metaphysical meaning behind that little 2 point sentence.
since that faithful night i have only seen Mr. Williams 2 other times, the first time was when i was thoroughly intoxicated and i tried and failed to draw out more impressive statements about the world and the second time i saw him ridding a bike downtown, wearing his signature smile and pink tuq.

I suggest you visit his myspace, listen to his music and read his poetry.

at first, and probably at last you will be thoroughly turned off by what this artist is expressing, i know i am, but what do i know. i am no prophet

here is my... favorite...? poem of his:

This is the story of an aware man called LORD, his wife named MERCY, and another
person called A-N-D ........we don't know if A-N-D is a man or a woman....
Who cares anyway.....

LORD came home one night...
Found Mercy with A-N-D in a Patch...
I tell you
She was not only 'bare bottom'
She was also.......Bare Snatch'

LORD said....MERCY......What's happening Honey?
She said.....
Well....I am here gathering Experience....
LORD said....'That makes good common sense...To Me...

Lord said,
Well , I don't have to get 'TIED UP' by Victorian Morality
Because ' I am the LORD, and I know, much better,
Than to take this 'Personally',
So push over, MERCY....Let's have a Threesone,...HONEY....

That's the end of this true story...
I swear they are all living together....And Happy.....
Signed..... LORD, A-N-D, MERCY....
Thank You --------Merci......MERCY....

I just want you to be the best human being you can be.

Never compromise your state of happiness
Make sure your reality is constantly improving
Improve someones reality
Never stop learning

Life is like a mountain trail;

As your hiking up this trail it's good to have different guides with you along this path. for one section of the journey you might have a bird expert who will point out all the awesome birds you would have missed without this guide. Another section of your life path maybe you might have a plant expert who will teach you all you need to know about those crazy plants. sometimes though, you must walk your path alone, with no distractions, so you can truly appreciate the serene quite beauty.

If your dating someone your not happy with and/or you are not learning from .. then what are you doing? wasting time, compromising your reality and your happiness.
lets face it; your not getting married before (hopefully) 28+++ so right now why don't you just enjoy the time you have with your special someone until it's time to move on and experience someone else.
experience is knowledge and knowledge is power, With great power you have so many more opportunities open for you.
Are we going to split hairs here?
people are fascinating. find out for yourself.
go through life like a buffet, after you have tried everything you will know with absolute certainty which dish you want eat for the rest of your life.
walking in the restaurant and going straight for the egg rolls is whack, you know it and i know it.
I just want you to be the best human being you can be.

For your own sake you need to love yourself or you will be forever lonely.

the wounds have stopped weeping and the man soon Burns

I'm back! hello hello
i have so much to say
so many things to show you.
my bag of jewels is a glittering and i am dying to let you take a peek. ya? YA!

First off you crazy kids, I'm on the back end of a bout with poison ivy, i know it's horrible but it looks worse then it is. I'm on heavy drugs and it should clear up with a couple days.
because of this i have had to take off work
therefore i have had a lot of time with my thoughts, my computer, music and everything else that makes me smile in my humble home.

I Hate Tiesto! and I'm no fan of mainstream housey/trance but this track is dope.
yesterday i was standing next to my pool wearing black short shorts and drinking a large glass of water whilst listening to this track and generally enjoying life. i hope you like it too.
speaking of enjoying life here are some other tracks that will brighten you mood and your life.

Rick James - Give it to me baby

My Secret lover - Private (Diplo remix)
This track exudes gangsterism with a touch of emotionality, great to drive reallll slowwww to.

I am not a robot - (penguin Prison remix) Marina & the diamonds
I heard about this track from my friend Kerne's facebook status update. it's dope it's melodic. The piano and the vocals are what get me feelin groovy

Oh Snap! check this track out

Ron Hardy Said (Eric Prydz remix) - Paolo Mojo & Jim Rivers
This one is fucking heavy, it has it all; intellectual ravings at the beginning(my fav), heavy beats, melodic synths in the back and grimy rave sounds near the middle/end

Also amazing news! I'm going to BURNING MAN 09!!! holy roaming rectangles batman!

an 8 day music/art/freedom of expression festival in the Black Rock Desert in Nevada, 2 hours north of Reno

check it out: www.burningman.com
and this pretty dope trailer of burning man, trust me I've seen a lot of them:

I'm leaving the 29th and coming back the 9th
it will be madness, pure aesthetically pleasing madness

Check out this performance story by Robert Ooghe. He talks about his first time at Burning man

Art Bleek: French house music guy

He has some dope house/techno/nu jazz music out there

I'm currently swimming in this track: Future Memory (Sei A Perspective) remix

Here's the original: Art Bleek - Future Memory

it's heavy and Housy and catchy. Any song with accented vocals is sure to tickle you behind the ear. besides the dope vocals there's some good piano and heavy Bassssss.
it's a good 'walking in the dark' song or a good " walking down a crowded street on a rainy day whilst wearing really dark sunglasses" can you dig it?
so download it

Here's his Myspace: http://www.myspace.com/artbleek

he's even got a house remix of Beat it.

I WANT YOU TO GET MAD!

First you've got to get mad, you gotta say "I'm a human being Goddammit MY LIFE HAS VALUE!!!"

This is an excerpt from the 1976 movie " Network" I haven't seen the movie yet so i wont write anything about all i can say is it looks pretty radical:

Here's where you can watch the whole 2hr movie.. for freeeee : http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=216105531921215883&ei=9gleSoiTIqiErAKK5rQt&q=network%2C+1976&hl=en&dur=3

I downloaded this track the other day that incorporates the famous Network speech into it. It's at the beginning with some piano in the background. the song is pretty dope, although the later part of the song ( after the speech) can be so much better, with more bass and what not.. because i mean the speech is so intense and fills you with energy and bravado that your expecting your speakers top explode as soon as the last syllable of that speech drops.. unfortunately it isn't an intense as one would hope, nevertheless it's still a good song.

Get Mad - Herbdout

for some more intense energy infused tracks and mixes here's a link you should check out Dollop and Dlex these guys put out podcast on itunes every now and then. it's a hit or miss with these fellows but this weeks podcast is pretty dope, scratch that very dope... it's got me wiggling my mane as we speak. Trumpets and umpa lumpa's and surprisingly agile heavy bass ( cause fat people can't run) and MIA and House, not just any house but a seaside cliff house with drugs and dancing ( if you can't grasp the analogy or visualize the metaphor well shit man i guess your just not an urban achiever),.. ohhhh yaaaaa if that doesn't define a good summer mix i don't know what does.

I WANT YOU TO GET MAD!

Know any good Slave songs?

I ask my co-workers "know any good slave songs?" they don't.
Lucky i do.
I like to sing this as I'm shoveling crap out of the junk truck at work (1-800-got junk?)
it's therapeutic and makes work (especially shoveling) go by a lot quicker.. i suppose that's what the old slaves created the song for.

kudos to Bryan Sentes, English teacher at Dawson College for introducing me to this warm and painfully delicious, or deliciously painful track

Go Down Old Hannah - Texas Prison song

here's a video that is merely a shadow of the original:

On a side note i created a great white slaver name/character while i was at work singing Old Hannah (ironic and wrong i know but hilarious) "Wilkinson Louisiana the Third" proud owner of 50 Negros, half a dozen Apache and a regular at madam Monique's New Orleans brothel. He has a southern accent and a big fat belly and kinda looks like the colonel from KFC. "you goan pick that cotton ya hear? afterwads i gona get you a nice cold glass of my wife's lemon aid, yes sir and ya can take a break down by the old river" See he's a nice slaver.

Why can't we all just Rave our way to heaven?

Giles Smith. one half of Secretsundaze has put out a podcast with RA Residentadvisor
it's super deep like some of the women i have slept with. it's all about the deep house, the smooth techno, the unrecognizable transitions. It flows through your body like mutli-grain cereal.
If mermaids had raves i think this is the type of music they would dance(swim?) too.
you can download it hear: Giles Smith but you have to create a login first. it's not that hard and well worth it.
The mix is 80 minutes long and was recorded in Giles bedroom. i bet he mixed in his boxers, that would be rad.

This deep house and techno provided by artist such as Giles smith and other European rave gurus are as powerful as the religious preachings of the 'ism' and the worlds faiths.
If church had deep rave parties I'd be the first in line for holy communion HALLELUJAH! I'd also feel much more connected to "God" then i would be from hearing the endless drone of white robed ministers reading and re-reading a book that is the worst example of broken telephone and selective beliefs.
Why can't we all just Rave our way to heaven?
It's much less harmful then going to war with Religious books as our shields and godly representations/artifacts E.g. (The Cross, The Menora) as our weapons.

let's just listen to good music and dance and love and be loved and smile and make new friends and enjoying life. with that said
Download that podcast above and stay tuned every week on RA advisor for their weekly podcast downloads, which are always dope like the pope who lost hope and dropped the soap and got groped by a big mutha sucka named Delicious!

Y'all wana get Sweaty with me?

No longer having problems with girls and legitimately growing up Girl Problems and Kid Legit have banded together like superman and Batman, Spongebob and Patrick, The Brush and Listerine to create the fantastic club fighting duo Nujax they've got some pretty aggressive house tracks, mostly (if not all?) remix's. You can dance like an epileptic every Friday at their "Sextape Fridays" (easily found on facebook) club nights where they tear up Blue Dog motel like DMX and Michael Vick.

They're just massive, in the sense that their dj skills and remix's are heavy and aggressive, they make you ( or at least me) want to punch a hipster in the face on the dance floor to give yourself more room to swing your arms around and chug the bottle of Grey goose that has been passed around like a hooker from Rimouski then getting rid of that terrible alcohol burn by licking a strange lady of the night who's dancing as bellicose as you(me) then hitting her in the face with your(my) sweaty hair then ending the routine by cupping your mouth and giving the very popular "woooo" salute to the dj's, in this case NUJAX"S !

This music is straight up sweaty

Much love to my buddy Justine "the rattle snake" Adler and Alan "big money" Brinsmead

Super Duper Fly - Nujax

Back in Black - Nujax

we be walkin with to much swagger be missin the buses and shit

I gotta vent like a mutha fucka!!! but don't worry I'll add some dope music for you (my countless fans and followers) to listen to while i vent cause I'm listening to it now

Check it it's Drake http://www.myspace.com/thisisdrake

its the black dude who got shot up on degrassi!
he's a rapper now!
i know i was taken aback as well .. i mean ..degrassi common but no he is a genuine rapper... and he's pretty dope.. i like his flow. He's supposedly banging Rihana now.. he must be happy.

Fucking Rant time
so i caught this little blurb on my friends blog today : http://ekolson.tumblr.com/ (june16th)

why am i a little perturbed and such? i unno i just wanted to hangout with that lady and hopefully have some good times and get to know an interesting girl, god knows "interesting" is a rare quality these days, but this fellow gunterman (you got lower cased bitch) seems to have all that on lock-down and I'm not a house breaker (is that the term?) I've done it already in the past and it never feels good (actually it fucking does. why lie about it? your just bringing pleasure to a pleasure less person in a gloomy and boring relationship). But it's all about improving someones reality and i doubt i can improve this chicks reality more then gunterman can. there both photographers! I'm a model.. man that would make an interesting three-way

anyway another PROMINENT reason why i am perturbed is because this fellow man slept with an old bum buddy of mine before i had so it seems to me that he's always one step ahead of me. I mean COMMON! You see i had grandiose plans to take the blog lady on some fun adventure times this week.. i even texted her! oh ya I'm serious, but it looks like cupid already popped a cap in her ass...i hate that diaper wearing mofo "getting into ballroom brawls with cupid like fuck that naked baby angel doll" - Saul Williams. (At the very end of song)

Surrender - Saul Williams

We should meet gunterman, or maybe we're the same person and this is some straight up fight club type shit. Either way I'm already tired with your generic looking ass and your (obviously) exceptional skill in the Venusian arts
Fuck!

it has been way to long dear blog.

i gotta write something! my creativity is shriveling like balls in cold water.

I'm gonna writer about this techno I'm blasting write now.
techno use to be such a dirty word.. now electro has taken it's place as the dirty word.. but that's another post..

i recently subscribed to this website called Resident advisor, you can download podcasts and what not. They have a new one each week

www.residentadvisor.net

The podcasts are phenomenally dope, the best techno and House and underground shake that i have seen a website offer to date.
go there now and dl some podcast
http://www.residentadvisor.net/podcast.aspx

So far this podcast is my favorite: http://www.residentadvisor.net/podcast-episode.aspx?id=156
it's a dude called Seth Troxler .. he sounds like a cat who has a lot of satin in his home and goes to many orgies.

The one i am listening to right now is a live mix by this duder named Levon Vincent
http://www.residentadvisor.net/podcast-episode.aspx?id=158

If you find this post to lack substance and you need a side dish for your voracious appetite then good sir feast you eyes on this website!: http://www.textsfromlastnight.com/
This website has single handily made me squirt milk out of my nose in fits of laughter.. without even drinking milk. Basically the name is self explanatory .. There are thousands of text messages from people about their debauchery the night before, for example:

(201): I'm smoking weed out of a trumpet
(908): I just did a slip and slide down the hall way of my apartment building
(201): Tie
and..

(971): I have two black x marks on my hands.
(503): Yep you got cut off last night after a stripper bent over in front of you and you screamed very loudly 'I can see your soul from here'
(971): damnit I wish I could remember that.

the list goes on and on.

I've even posted a couple myself (search the 514)

definitely worth checking out, especially if your having a bad day and need a good cheering up.
Keep your mangoes fresh and your bananas peeled
